About the event:

A keynote speech will be given by Prof. Dr. Ing. Schotten, President of the German scientific society VDE ITG, tackling which prerequisites are necessary to obtain or recover technological sovereignty and giving recommendations based on a EUREL study on technological sovereignty that was published in 2021. He will then be joined in the panel by Mr. Patrick Bezombes from AFNOR and Chair of the CEN-CENELEC Workshop on Digital Technology, and by Mr. Jakub Christoph, the Secretary General of CEPIS (the Council of European Professional Informatics Societies), for a discussion around : What is the state of play of technological/digital sovereignty in the EU? Which areas should be tackled more urgently? How can standardization help achieving digital sovereignty? Is the EU on the right track since its last legislation proposals?
