The 7th European Research Program will start in January 2007. The first call for tender for submission or proposal of a new research projects wil be anounced on 22nd december 2006. On the other hand the 6th EU framework resarch programme is coming to the end. A donation on this subject would permit participation of Slovenia in the research domain of transport in the so called European Research Area (ERA).

The project will focus on four main actions:  Organising a contest of the best PhD studies in the field of transport, the best of which will be presented during the Slovenian ISEP 2007 Conference. Setting up a data base of companies, research institutes, organisations and universities involved in transport research facilitated through the Slovenian Transport Research workshop 2007.

Mapping areas of strengths (and weaknesses and needs) of Slovenian transport research. Presenting of the final results of the TransSLO project during the EU - Transport Research Arena (TRA) Conference in Ljubljana in April 2008. The TransSLO project is coordinated by the Director of SLOVENIA CONTROL, the Slovenian Air Navigation Services, Mr. Srecko Jansa. Project partners, Newrail, the Centre for Railway Research of the University of Newcastle (UNEW, UK), the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Slovenia (MzP) and Electrotechnical Association of Slovenia (EZS).
