Dear Sir/Madam, On 1 December 2006 we began the implementation of the TransSLO project (Specific Support Action on Support for Sustainable Transport Research in Slovenia) as one of the last projects to be implemented within the 6th EU framework programme. The project is coordinated by Slovenia Control, Slovenian Air Navigation Services, Ltd. supported by the following partners: the Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Slovenia, NewRail at Newcastle University and the Electrotechnical Association of Slovenia. The project aims are: Using knowledge and experience to promote research in the area of transport in Slovenia, Encouraging PhD researchers at universities and research institutions, Generating information needed when decisions are taken in the research area associated with transport in Slovenia and the EU and Collecting and ensuring the accessibility of information on Slovenian research capabilities in the area of transport, To stimulate and enhance the role of Slovenian research excellence in Europe. An important role in the project is the preparation of the database of research organizations and researchers in the area of transport and transport systems. The database actually upgrades the SICRIS database with precise transport data. In this regard we have prepared a questionnaire which you will find in the attachment.
